Sowing Seeds In Schools

Beginning in February 2023, OPERATION: SEED INC. launched a monthly series of Life Skills workshops at Northeast Guilford High School (a Title I school in McLeansville, NC) for the purpose of engaging, encouraging, educating, and equipping groups of twenty senior class students as they prepare for life after graduation. We will invite individuals from the community to partner with us in presenting topics related to finance, entrepreneurship, college, career exploration, safety, mental health, nutrition, leadership, social media savvy, serving in the community/volunteerism, and much more.

January 18, 2024 ~ Motivational Session: Tracey McCain, Award-Winning Journalist, Motivational Speaker, Entrepreneur, and Fitness Coach. Life empowerment session for a group of seventeen Class of 2024 students.
February 4, 2023 and February 14, 2024 ~ Financial Literacy Basics: Heather Lyons, Marketing & Community Relations Coordinator for the Greensboro Municipal Federal Credit Union. Session for a group of Class of 2023 and Class of 2024 students.
March 14, 2023 ~ Women in Sports Careers: Kaila Lewis, Manager of Communications/CSR for the Greensboro Swarm Basketball Team. Special Women's History Month session for the Northeast Rams Girls' Basketball Team.
Up Next ~ Career Exploration Workshop on March 20, 2024. This session will be led by Blake Easley, NCWorks NextGen Community Outreach Coordinator and will include an interactive O*NET Assessment for career discovery.
